Young People Making A Difference

 

The Youth Employment Internship program provides at risk youth and students with basic job skills and training them in the clerical field. The students participate in agency activities and assist with the development of youth-led projects at the agency. This program allows youth and students to gain basic job skills and job experiences.

 

The students are in the 9th grade, and attend Michelle Clark High and Manley School.  The youth are between the ages of  13 to 17 year old.

 

Since 2003, we have trained over 50 students, and 150 youth basic job skills in the clerical field. The students enrolled in our internship program continued on to obtain jobs after completed the internship and WECSP program.  

PFFC Programs

 

Teen-N- Talent Design Club provides youth training in the retail field. The youth are trained to create art designs using air brushing, digital transfers, drawing and screen printing for their own clothing line.  The clothes products are t-shirts, shirts, and pants. The members conduct t-shirt workshops at other youth organization. The youth learn about entrepreneurship and obtain entrepreneurial skills by running the club. The club also creates job opportunities for the club members. 

 

Teen In Business Development Club program is an entrepreneurial training program that is designed to assist youth and staff how to start a youth-led business club in their schools, churches, block clubs, or in their community. The program provides technical assistance services, business development workshops, business resources information, upcoming grants, teen grantwriting workshops, fundraising and business resources.

 

Junior Digital Photography program teach younger people how to take professional photos to sell at community events and school events. Youth  create their own line of photos to sale to the public, and partner with local newspapers to be their youth photographers. The group offer a basic digital photography workshop for other students, and youth to learn photography skills, and become Junior Photographers at the agency.

 

 

Children Reading & Financial Literary Activities programs .We created a Family Summer Reading Project for families and children to participate in reading activities.  We created a variety of reading activities such as the reading drama, penny save, library, family reading activities and field trips. The reading drama is a variety of script activities in which children and families read directly from scripts.  They are able to tell stories in a most entertaining form, with puppets, costumes, and music.  The script activities are choral speaker, play, and puppets play. Penny Save Activities teach children about money and saving tips.  Children have a weekly reading challenge to receive stickers, tattoos, and books. The parent-child together reading activities will be a Family Photo Journal Project.  This is an exciting program for parents and their children work together to read, write, and create their own published journals stuffed full of their family story .  

 

Young Entrepreneurs & Entertainers Club  program provides technical assistance, business mentor/consultant, business resources, referral services, management and business seminars, collaborative team projects information and technical assistance so they can reach whatever goals they have established for their business..

Dare to Dream Kid s Garden Club (summer program). The youth are involved in garden activities and field trips to difference community gardens during the summer. The garden activities consisted of the youth growing a tickle Me Plant and herd garden, including paint wood flowers  to put in their window at home. The youth chose a flower to adopt and learn about the origin and history of their flowers, and took pictures of their flowers at different garden sites. The youth visit 5 city and local garden during the summer. They were the Fredrick Douglass Storybook Garden, Garfield Park Conservatory, Homan Square Garden, North Lawndale African Garden, and the Chicago Botanic Garden .

 

Teen Business Club Camp (Summer Programs) provides seven week entrepreneurial training to at risk youth for the summer. The youth are training how to produce their products or services to sell. The youth are involved in all stage of planning to market their products to the general public.  

 

Business Networking Meeting program provides new and existing businesses Individuals, entrepreneurs, churches, block clubs, and grassroot nonprofit organizations with upcoming grant information, business resources, referral services, management , business seminars, and workshops, and technical assistance so they can reach whatever goals they have established for their business. We also collaborative with members on community projects  In the past years, we have provided technical assistance services to over 300 individuals, young entrepreneurs and youth organizations .
